Shady & sunny halves of the mulch. This thick layer of leaves keeps the soil underneath protected & frost free.
Last apples that were still hanging are harvested. The leaves are gone and the tree is ready for winter dormancy.
This moment comes every year, and the next year I plant physalis again from seed. It’s such a beautiful and delicious plant. Grateful for the harvest.
Apples grafted with the neighbors variety 2 years ago are already producing.
One of my favorite berries, the #physalis is finally ripening. I’ll be enjoying them until the frost comes. Hopefully for a while still 🤞
