The balcony is producing lots of sweet tomatoes. It’s so rewarding to just pop outside and get a snack. I planted again my favorite small wild tomato. I never got its proper name, but it’s so small and tasty I’m thinking it might be a type of currant tomato.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currant tomatoes are a whole different species of tomato, and go by the scientific name\u00a0Solanum pimpinellifolium<\/em>. They are closer to their wild ancestors, and apparently have higher levels of nutritious compounds. I am growing a yellow currant tomato and it’s a delicious taste explosion every time I eat them.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n Cherry and currant tomatoes are a balcony must. They can produce a plentiful and tasty harvest even in small spaces.
