My \u201ctradition\u201d is to buy one as seedling, and plant one from seed from a tomato I ate and found especially yummy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also planted old favorites, the medium sized tigerella and a tiny teardrop-shaped wild tomato. They all seem to be growing well and enjoying the rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Update: the black truffle didn\u2019t really deliver the \u201cblack\u201d part, but the \u201ctruffle\u201d? Oh, what a deliciously rich taste! I\u2019m saving seeds for sure. The star plum tasted ok but didn\u2019t develop the \u201cstar\u201d shape unique to its mother fruit.
