THE RESULTS!!!!

PANIC sessions are real-time image collaboration events that have been going on among the participants of the Sito art group (www.sito.org). First, the artists decide upon a theme and upload a number of "seed" images. Then, everybody begins to download the starter images and manipulate them with image editing software, later uploading the results. The second-generation images serve as a basis for the third-generation manipulation, and so on. This fast-paced process lasts for a couple of days and can result in many mutations and crossovers of imagery, spawning to various generations.

The PANIC BOOTH is a PANIC session revolving around a specific event, in a space where a group of people will be circulating for at least a couple of days, like a festival, a workshop, a conference or an extended party. One of the most popular themes for PANIC sessions is portraits. So in the PANIC booth people will be able to take their own portraits and upload them to the Sito website. Then, the artists will creatively alter and manipulate them. At the same time, the altered images will be continuously downloaded and exhibited on another screen as a slide show. So the event participants may come back later and see what is happening to their portraits, in an ongoing process. If they want, there can be also an imaging-processing booth with image manipulation software such as Goo and PhotoSoap. There, the event participants can also work on other people's portraits. Simultaneous events in different locations can be connected in this way, with PANIC booths installed in all of them.
