The project has adopted the Apple Macintosh platform to achieve consistent results with the least effort. We adopted it in 1991, when LEAD started, and we have had no regrets so far.
We have created many effective solutions for actual problems of communication bothering our School and our University, despite our limited resources, since we always try overcoming our limited resources with plenty of creativity.
Constantly solving real problems of design through the creative use of new technologies has allowed us to generate our own, specific know-how which immediately informs our educational process, through disciplines and seminars. We see practice coming first, creating, informing and changing theory as a result.
In consequence of that policy, the LEAD project has given us the unique opportunity to develop our talents further and to share our knowledge with fellow teachers and students. We try to lead the way to the future, in matters related to the teaching and practice of visual communication, in our particular region (South of Brazil).
Thus, we could not miss the opportunity to show who we are and what we do through the new medium of the World Wide Web, made recently available to us, thru a courtesy of CESUP. We hope to be able to display here not only the best of what LEAD has produced up to now, but also to bring under the spotlight many other interesting works done by other artists of our School.
