4. 1954~1994 : Changed for the better.

The computer characters became more believeable as more persons began to use them, especially from the late 1970's on, with personal computers hitting the mass market.

The computer industries quickly observed that, and today computer advertisement in the movies is something that can't be changed. When a super-businessman like Michael Douglas' character in Disclosure has a videoconference ready SGI at home, one can say that the computers serve not only as characters, but help to define human characters.

To continue in the ball game, I strongly believe that the industries must pay more attention to computer software as part of the plot. The only time I saw this was in James Cameron's "True Lies", when Schwarzenegger turns on a MS-Windows in Arab.
